Outdoor sunset family photoshoots take place in various beach and forest locations across Hampshire, lasting approx 60-90 minutes. These sessions are exclusively available during the UK summer months; August to October, when the weather remains warm and inviting yet the sunsets gradually shift earlier, catering perfectly to families with young children.

The base package includes 15 digital images of your choosing & matching 6x4" prints. Upgrades available at your leisure to ensure you receive exactly what you desire, whether that's every perfect photograph in your gallery (50 images) or just a few special keepsake images.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My purpose-built, natural light home studio is located in Hedge End, Southampton, UK. For summer sunset photoshoots these are normally held at West Wittering beach in West Sussex (PO20 8AJ) or within the New Forest during late August/early September. However I do travel all over Hampshire, so please sign up to my mailing list if you would like to be notified of any outdoor shoots that might be close to you. Equally if there is somewhere you would like to have your shoot in particular I am happy to try new locations too!
I try to keep my family photography natural, capturing the action as it happens. So lots of fun and not too much posing. I feel this helps bring out the true character of your children and will make the session more enjoyable.

Galleries usually contain a minimum of 50 photos. However please note the amount can vary due to many factors including the type of shoot and how your little ones settle on the day.
Following your outdoor family photoshoot, you’ll receive a link to your soft-proof online gallery. From this you will be able to easily choose your final images / package. Once final edits have been made, your images will be delivered digitally available for high resolution download. You will also receive your gorgeous prints in the post shortly after.
It will take 2 weeks to deliver your soft-proof gallery. Once you have chosen your package, your final gallery will be delivered within 2 weeks after that. I put a lot of love and care into editing each image, which is why it'll take me a little bit more time to deliver your final images. If you'd like your photos sooner, please ask me about the rush fee.
Of course, I'd love for you to print your favourite photos! You can easily order photo prints through the store in your online gallery, or a supplier of your choosing once final images have been delivered.
Children are very unpredictable and things come up! Illness and events outside of our control I completely understand. As long as certain conditions are met as outlined in my contract, I am happy to reschedule any family shoot without charge as long as notice is given.
As the UK weather is so unpredictable, I won’t cancel or re-arrange a shoot until the day before at the earliest. If it is forecasted to rain at this time, I will be in touch to discuss if you would like to re-schedule or keep chancing it up until 1 hour before we are due to meet. Sometimes we must wait for mother nature to decide and go with the flow! I will always try to re-schedule for another evening that same week if we need to, so the excitement levels do not dip, and all the preparation you have in place do not go to waste. If possible, please keep a few evenings free the same week just in case.
Of course, I want to ensure you know what you need to bring and what to expect, so your session runs as smooth and stress-free as possible. I will provide you with helpful guides and be on hand to answer any questions you might have in the lead-up to your family photoshoot session. Please never hesitate to reach out!
There are two optimal times for picture taking, and that is either very early or very late.
Most families tend to want their session at sunset; this is when you will get the fantastic golden hues illuminating your family’s skin and dreamy, dramatic images. I will typically ask to meet 1 hour before sunset for sunset sessions.
My outdoor sessions typically last for 60-90 minutes. I try to keep to this because little ones tend to tire quickly, and after an hour, they will start to get slower, more cranky and start getting fussy. This is just a general rule of thumb; however, if you’re all still going strong, I am happy to carry on shooting for longer if the option is there!
